As we reflected on the sorrow that marked Holy Week, we now look forward to the enduring message of hope and renewal in the coming Sunday. As we witness the city’s continued resilience, we are reminded of the profound words of Jesus, "I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die…" (John 11:25). In every corner of our city, we see life blooming anew in the midst. Let's carry this spirit of rebirth in our hearts, believing in the possibility of new beginnings and the promise of a brighter future. For in faith and unity, we find the strength to rise, again and again.

================This Week's Scripture:// Key Verses //John 20:1-2: Early on the first day of the week, while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene went to the tomb and saw that the stone had been removed from the entrance. So she came running to Simon Peter and the other disciple, the one Jesus loved, and said, “They have taken the Lord out of the tomb, and we don’t know where they have put him!”
John 20:15-17: He asked her, “Woman, why are you crying? Who is it you are looking for?”
Thinking he was the gardener, she said, “Sir, if you have carried him away, tell me where you have put him, and I will get him.”
Jesus said to her, “Mary.”
She turned toward him and cried out in Aramaic, “Rabboni!” (which means “Teacher”).
Jesus said, “Do not hold on to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father. Go instead to my brothers and tell them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’”
John 20:19-20: On the evening of that first day of the week, when the disciples were together, with the doors locked for fear of the Jewish leaders, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you!” After he said this, he showed them his hands and side. The disciples were overjoyed when they saw the Lord.

================This Week's Scripture:// John 11:21–27 //“Lord,” Martha said to Jesus, “if you had been here, my brother would not have died. But I know that even now God will give you whatever you ask.”
Jesus said to her, “Your brother will rise again.”
Martha answered, “I know he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day.”
Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?”
“Yes, Lord,” she replied, “I believe that you are the Messiah, the Son of God, who is to come into the world.”

================This Week's Scripture:// Key Passages //1 Corinthians 12:12-14 (NIV): Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ. For we were all baptized by one Spirit so as to form one body—whether Jews or Gentiles, slave or free—and we were all given the one Spirit to drink. Even so the body is not made up of one part but of many.
1 Corinthians 12:26-27 (NIV): If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honored, every part rejoices with it. Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.
1 John 3:1 (NIV): See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.
2 Corinthians 6:18 (NIV): And, “I will be a Father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.”

================This Week's Scripture:// Ephesians 3:17-20 (NLT) //Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.
Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.

Sunday Dec 24, 2023

As we approach Christmas Eve, let us pause and reflect on the profound truth encapsulated in these words. As Luke 2:11 shares, love came near to us, not in grandeur or splendour, but in the humble form of a baby: Jesus, our Saviour, Messiah, and Lord. The birth of Jesus is a divine reminder of God's immeasurable love for humanity. It is a love that reaches beyond the boundaries of time and space, offering hope, forgiveness, and eternal redemption. This love knows no limits, embraces the broken, and brings healing to our souls.

================This Week's Scripture:// Luke 2:4-12 (NIV) //So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child. While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them.
And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”
