Family Matters: Passing the Blessing

As we continue to celebrate the new year, let's not forget the true blessings that bring us together: our families and our faith. In 2 Corinthians 5:17, we're reminded: "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” This verse inspires us to see our families as a new creation, where love and grace are passed down through generations. Just as Hong Kong continues to evolve and grow, so too can our families be renewed in Christ.

This Week's Scripture:
// Key Passages //
Exodus 34:7: Yet he does not leave the guilty unpunished; he punishes the children and their children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation.

Ezekiel 18:14-17: But suppose this son has a son who sees all the sins his father commits, and though he sees them, he does not do such things: “He does not eat at the mountain shrines or look to the idols of Israel.He does not defile his neighbor’s wife. He does not oppress anyone or require a pledge for a loan. He does not commit robbery but gives his food to the hungry and provides clothing for the naked. He withholds his hand from mistreating the poor and takes no interest or profit from them. He keeps my laws and follows my decrees. He will not die for his father’s sin; he will surely live."

Galatians 3:13: Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: “Cursed is everyone who is hung on a pole.”

Romans 6:6-7: For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body ruled by sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin— because anyone who has died has been set free from sin.

Joshua 24:15: But if serving the LORD seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD.
