Surprised By: Hope

As we continue to chase for greater things, it’s easy to overlook the small beginnings that hold immense potential. Just like the plumb line in Zerubbabel’s hand, every little step we take matters. As we navigate through challenges and uncertainties, let us remember the words from Zechariah 4:10: “Do not despise these small beginnings, for the LORD rejoices to see the work begin.” Each moment of hope, each act of kindness, and every dream nurtured is a foundation for something greater. Join us on Sunday as we kick off a new sermon series centred around Advent and let us embrace our small beginnings together!

This Week's Scripture:
// Zechariah 9:9-13 //
The coming of Zion’s king
Rejoice greatly, Daughter Zion!
    Shout, Daughter Jerusalem!
See, your king comes to you,
    righteous and victorious,
lowly and riding on a donkey,
    on a colt, the foal of a donkey.
I will take away the chariots from Ephraim
    and the war-horses from Jerusalem,
    and the battle-bow will be broken.
He will proclaim peace to the nations.
    His rule will extend from sea to sea
    and from the River to the ends of the earth.
As for you, because of the blood of my covenant with you,
    I will free your prisoners from the waterless pit.
Return to your fortress, you prisoners of hope;
    even now I announce that I will restore twice as much to you.
I will bend Judah as I bend my bow
    and fill it with Ephraim.
I will rouse your sons, Zion,
    against your sons, Greece,
    and make you like a warrior’s sword.
