This Sunday, Pastor Wade will dive deep into the teaching of salvation as we begin to wrap up our series "Heaven & Hell (and everything in between)". How we understand salvation is important to how we live our lives and what we believe our purposes are. Thus, as we look forward to the service, let us reflect on the conviction in Matthew 12:37, which says, "For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned."

================This Week's Scripture:// Matthew 12:35-37 //A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in him, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in him. But I tell you that everyone will have to give account on the day of judgment for every empty word they have spoken. For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned.

This week, after the long weekend, Pastor Wade teaches on God's upside down kingdom as we extend the "Heaven & Hell (and everything in between)" series. Through the service, we will tackle the issue of what "hell" is scripturally. Looking forward, let us reflect on Luke 16:31, which teaches this profound wisdom that: "If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be convinced even if someone rises from the dead."

================This Week's Scripture:// Luke 16:19-31 //There was a rich man who was dressed in purple and fine linen and lived in luxury every day. At his gate was laid a beggar named Lazarus, covered with sores and longing to eat what fell from the rich man’s table. Even the dogs came and licked his sores.
The time came when the beggar died and the angels carried him to Abraham’s side. The rich man also died and was buried. In Hades, where he was in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham far away, with Lazarus by his side. So he called to him, "Father Abraham, have pity on me and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, because I am in agony in this fire."
But Abraham replied, "Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, while Lazarus received bad things, but now he is comforted here and you are in agony. And besides all this, between us and you a great chasm has been set in place, so that those who want to go from here to you cannot, nor can anyone cross over from there to us."
He answered, "Then I beg you, father, send Lazarus to my family, for I have five brothers. Let him warn them, so that they will not also come to this place of torment."
Abraham replied, "They have Moses and the Prophets; let them listen to them."
"No, father Abraham," he said, "but if someone from the dead goes to them, they will repent."
He said to him, "If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be convinced even if someone rises from the dead."

This Sunday, Pastor Brenda carries on our "Heaven & Hell (and everything in between)" series by looking at vocation—and how we were made for it. Through the long weekend, may we ponder on Revelation 5:10, which says, "You have appointed them as a kingdom and priests to serve our God, and they will reign on the earth."

================This Week's Scripture:// Genesis 1:26-29 //Then God said, “Let us make humankind in our image, after our likeness, so they may rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move on the earth.”
God created humankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them, male and female he created them.
God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply! Fill the earth and subdue it! Rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and every creature that moves on the ground.” Then God said, “I now give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the entire earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food.”

This Sunday, we continue our sermon series, "Heaven & Hell (and everything in between)," and look at sin and salvation—and how that all fits in to how we live our lives in the present while working towards bringing heaven to earth. As we prepare our hearts, let us ponder on 2 Corinthians 5:20, which says, "We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God."

================This Week's Scripture:// 2 Corinthians 5:17-21 //Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God. God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

This Sunday, Pastor Wade continues our series, "Heaven & Hell (and everything in between)," by talking about new creation—and especially our roles in that. Let us reflect on Romans 8:18-19 as we prepare our hearts for the service: "I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us. For the creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed."

================This Week's Scripture:// Revelation 21:1-5 //I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us. For the creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed. For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the freedom and glory of the children of God.

This Sunday, Pastor Wade kicks off our new sermon series titled, "Heaven & Hell (and everything in between)" by looking at what the Bible actually speaks most about: heaven and earth. As we look towards Sunday, let us pray Matthew 6:9-10 as Jesus teaches us: "Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven."

================This Week's Scripture:// Revelation 21:1-5 //
Then I saw “a new heaven and a new earth,” for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband.
And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”
He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” Then he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”

Pastor Brenda closes out the "Three Essential Prayers" series by looking at prayers of praise for God, and how that enables us to live a life that is brimming in confidence. As we prepare for Sunday, let us reflect on Psalm 145:1-2, which proclaims, "I will exalt you, my God the King; I will praise your name for ever and ever. Every day I will praise you and extol your name for ever and ever."

================This Week's Scripture:// Psalm 145:3-7 //
Great is the Lord and most worthy of praise; his greatness no one can fathom.
One generation commends your works to another; they tell of your mighty acts.
They speak of the glorious splendor of your majesty—and I will meditate on your wonderful works.
They tell of the power of your awesome works—and I will proclaim your great deeds.
They celebrate your abundant goodness and joyfully sing of your righteousness.
