The story doesn’t end at the cross. Indeed, John writes that every miracle, every moment, was recorded “so that you will believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and so that you will have life by believing in him.” (John 20:31) Jesus doesn’t just fix a chapter of our lives; he completes the whole story—with new life, hope, and a future we couldn’t write for ourselves. ================This Week's Scripture:// John 20:1-10 (NIV) //Jesus Comes Back to LifeEarly on Sunday morning, while it was still dark, Mary from Magdala went to the tomb. She saw that the stone had been removed from the tomb’s entrance. So she ran to Simon Peter and the other disciple, whom Jesus loved. She told them, “They have removed the Lord from the tomb, and we don’t know where they’ve put him.”
So Peter and the other disciple headed for the tomb. The two were running side by side, but the other disciple ran faster than Peter and came to the tomb first. He bent over and looked inside the tomb. He saw the strips of linen lying there but didn’t go inside.
Simon Peter arrived after him and went into the tomb. He saw the strips of linen lying there. He also saw the cloth that had been on Jesus’ head. It wasn’t lying with the strips of linen but was rolled up separately. Then the other disciple, who arrived at the tomb first, went inside. He saw and believed. They didn’t know yet what Scripture meant when it said that Jesus had to come back to life. So the disciples went back home.

When God's people live in unity, the world doesn't just hear about Jesus—they see Him. Psalm 133:1 says, "How good and pleasant it is when God's people live together in unity!" But this isn't just a nice idea—it's a testimony. In a divided world, our oneness in Christ points to the One who makes it possible. Jesus completes the story: from brokenness to belonging, from isolation to family.

================This Week's Scripture:// John 17:20-26 (NIV) //Jesus prays for all believers‘My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one–I in them and you in me–so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.
‘Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory, the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world.
‘Righteous Father, though the world does not know you, I know you, and they know that you have sent me. I have made you known to them, and will continue to make you known in order that the love you have for me may be in them and that I myself may be in them.’

Love without layers looks like Jesus knowing us fully, yet holding nothing back and still choosing to lay down his life for us. That’s the kind of love he invites us into. This isn’t about pretending we’re fine or loving from a safe distance. It’s about learning to show up for one another with honesty, courage, and grace—because that’s how Jesus shows up for us. ================This Week's Scripture:// John 13:34-35, 15:12-13 (NIV) //A new command I give you: love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another...
My command is this: love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.

Sometimes life leaves us feeling like a bruised reed or a smouldering wick—fragile, weary, and unsure if there’s anything left to give. Yet Isaiah reminds us of God’s heart: “A bruised reed he will not break, and a smouldering wick he will not snuff out.” Jesus fulfils this promise. Where the world may discard what seems weak or fading, Jesus restores. He gently lifts, renews, and brings hope back to life. In Him, the story isn’t over—He completes it with grace, healing, and faithful justice. If you’re feeling worn down, remember: Jesus is not finished with your story. He restores.

================This Week's Scripture:// John 8:2-11 (NIV) //At dawn he appeared again in the temple courts, where all the people gathered around him, and he sat down to teach them. The teachers of the law and the Pharisees brought in a woman caught in adultery. They made her stand before the group and said to Jesus, “Teacher, this woman was caught in the act of adultery. In the Law Moses commanded us to stone such women. Now what do you say?” They were using this question as a trap, in order to have a basis for accusing him.
But Jesus bent down and started to write on the ground with his finger. When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, “Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her.” Again he stooped down and wrote on the ground.
At this, those who heard began to go away one at a time, the older ones first, until only Jesus was left, with the woman still standing there. Jesus straightened up and asked her, “Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?”
“No one, sir,” she said.
“Then neither do I condemn you,” Jesus declared. “Go now and leave your life of sin.”

“Who is my neighbour?” (Luke 10:29b) Jesus answers this question not just with words, but with His life. Through His love, He shows that the story of God’s compassion has no boundaries—it stretches across race, culture, and circumstance. Because God so loved, we are invited to do the same… to see every person as part of God’s beloved story.

In His presence, endings become beginnings, despair meets grace, and truth brings us home again. Maybe this isn’t the end after all. Maybe this is where God begins something new... together.

================This Week's Scripture:// Nehemiah 13:6-9, 14-15, 25 (NIV) //But while all this was going on, I was not in Jerusalem, for in the thirty-second year of Artaxerxes king of Babylon I had returned to the king. Some time later I asked his permission and came back to Jerusalem. Here I learned about the evil thing Eliashib had done in providing Tobiah a room in the courts of the house of God. I was greatly displeased and threw all Tobiah’s household goods out of the room. I gave orders to purify the rooms, and then I put back into them the equipment of the house of God, with the grain offerings and the incense.
Remember me for this, my God, and do not blot out what I have so faithfully done for the house of my God and its services.
In those days I saw people in Judah treading winepresses on the Sabbath and bringing in grain and loading it on donkeys, together with wine, grapes, figs and all other kinds of loads. And they were bringing all this into Jerusalem on the Sabbath. Therefore I warned them against selling food on that day.
I rebuked them and called curses down on them. I beat some of the men and pulled out their hair. I made them take an oath in God’s name and said: “You are not to give your daughters in marriage to their sons, nor are you to take their daughters in marriage for your sons or for yourselves.”

When we take a step toward God, we find He’s already reaching out to us. As James 4:8a says, “Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you.” Life is simply better together—not just with one another, but with the One who invites us closer every day. As we lean into His love, we discover His grace meeting us right where we are.  Let’s continue journeying nearer to Him—together.

================This Week's Scripture:// Nehemiah 7:1-5a (NIV) //After the wall had been rebuilt and I had set the doors in place, the gatekeepers, the musicians and the Levites were appointed. I put in charge of Jerusalem my brother Hanani, along with Hananiah the commander of the citadel, because he was a man of integrity and feared God more than most people do. I said to them, “The gates of Jerusalem are not to be opened until the sun is hot. While the gatekeepers are still on duty, have them shut the doors and bar them. Also appoint residents of Jerusalem as guards, some at their posts and some near their own houses.”
The List of the Exiles Who ReturnedNow the city was large and spacious, but there were few people in it, and the houses had not yet been rebuilt. So my God put it into my heart to assemble the nobles, the officials and the common people for registration by families. I found the genealogical record of those who had been the first to return.

Following Jesus isn’t easy. There are days when it feels like the opposition, the pressure, or just the tiredness is too much. But we’re reminded to “Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.” — Hebrews 12:3. This reminds us that we don’t run this race alone. Jesus has gone before us and he places us in community so that when one of us is weary, others can help carry the load. At Community Church, we’re learning that it’s better together not because it’s easy, but because God meets us in the struggle and strengthens us through one another.

================This Week's Scripture:// Nehemiah 5:6-13 (NIV) //When I heard their outcry and these charges, I was very angry. I pondered them in my mind and then accused the nobles and officials. I told them, “You are charging your own people interest!” So I called together a large meeting to deal with them and said: “As far as possible, we have bought back our fellow Jews who were sold to the Gentiles. Now you are selling your own people, only for them to be sold back to us!” They kept quiet, because they could find nothing to say.
So I continued, “What you are doing is not right. Shouldn’t you walk in the fear of our God to avoid the reproach of our Gentile enemies? I and my brothers and my men are also lending the people money and grain. But let us stop charging interest! Give back to them immediately their fields, vineyards, olive groves and houses, and also the interest you are charging them—one percent of the money, grain, new wine and olive oil.”
“We will give it back,” they said. “And we will not demand anything more from them. We will do as you say.”
Then I summoned the priests and made the nobles and officials take an oath to do what they had promised. I also shook out the folds of my robe and said, “In this way may God shake out of their house and possessions anyone who does not keep this promise. So may such a person be shaken out and emptied!”
At this the whole assembly said, “Amen,” and praised the Lord. And the people did as they had promised.
