As we step into the new year, let us embrace the promise of flourishing and the abundant blessings that await us. Just like the beautiful feet that bring good news, we are called to be messengers of hope, peace, and salvation. Indeed, in Isaiah 52:7, it says, “How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, 'Your God reigns!'"

What the World Needs: Love Comes Near

As we approach Christmas Eve, let us pause and reflect on the profound truth encapsulated in these words. As Luke 2:11 shares, love came near to us, not in grandeur or splendour, but in the humble form of a baby: Jesus, our Saviour, Messiah, and Lord. The birth of Jesus is a divine reminder of God's immeasurable love for humanity. It is a love that reaches beyond the boundaries of time and space, offering hope, forgiveness, and eternal redemption. This love knows no limits, embraces the broken, and brings healing to our souls.

What the World Needs: Peace

In a world that is longing for and, at this time especially, needs peace, let us look to the Prince of Peace: Jesus Christ. His sacrifice on the cross reconciles all things, bringing true and transformative peace to our lives. Indeed, in Colossians 1:19–20a, it says, "For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, and through him to reconcile all things to himself, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through the blood of his cross."⁠

================This Week's Scripture:// KEY VERSES //Isaiah 9:6–7 (NIV): For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the greatness of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David’s throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever. The zeal of the LORD Almighty will accomplish this.
Isaiah 11:1–9 (NIV): A shoot will come up from the stump of Jesse; from his roots a Branch will bear fruit. The Spirit of the LORD will rest on him—the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding, the Spirit of counsel and of might, the Spirit of the knowledge and fear of the LORD—and he will delight in the fear of the LORD.
He will not judge by what he sees with his eyes, or decide by what he hears with his ears; but with righteousness he will judge the needy, with justice he will give decisions for the poor of the earth. He will strike the earth with the rod of his mouth; with the breath of his lips he will slay the wicked. Righteousness will be his belt and faithfulness the sash around his waist. 
The wolf will live with the lamb, the leopard will lie down with the goat, the calf and the lion and the yearling together; and a little child will lead them. The cow will feed with the bear, their young will lie down together, and the lion will eat straw like the ox. The infant will play near the cobra’s den, and the young child will put its hand into the viper’s nest. They will neither harm nor destroy on all my holy mountain, for the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the Lord as the waters cover the sea.
